The Birth Plan is a #FOAMed site: free, open access, medical education. It’s a conversation about the messy, joyous, nail-biting, complex area of maternity care. Most of the conversation will be relevant to issues in the bush, away from the bright lights of tertiary hospitals. Looking after someone giving birth in these settings can sometimes be a lonely experience, and that is a good reason to get on the bandwagon of social media to open up new conversations.
Andy Linton is a GP obstetrician working in the Northern Territory. Currently apart from obstetrics his main interests are sailing, keeping chooks and playing ukelele.
With time The Birth Plan aims to recruit more authors, whether specialists, midwives, GPs or trainees. Are you interested?
